Director of Educational Outreach

Gabriel Ferguson joins the Bluegrass IIBA Chapter Leadership Team as Director of Educational Outreach in the spring of 2015.  He is a graduate of Morehead State University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a double concentration in Computer Information Systems and Accounting.  His work experience includes working as a business systems analyst specializing in Master Data Management, an automotive ERP systems analyst, a tax professional, and an IT project manager for a local food bank.  Gabriel's involvement with Phi Beta Lambda (PBL), the largest collegiate business student organization in the world, led him to compete and win first place in Information Management at the Kentucky PBL Spring Leadership Conference in 2014 and second place in Accounting Analysis & Decision Making in 2012.  He has led a college team to compete in the KYCPA’s (Kentucky Society of Certified Public Accountants) annual competition, PEAK (Promote & Encourage Accounting Kentucky) where students test their knowledge of the uniform CPA exam.  He hopes to bring his experience as a campus ambassador with Becker Professional education, an organization that promotes review courses for the CPA and PMP certifications, to his current role in order to present the IIBA's academic programs to local universities so that their curriculum may be enriched by the BABOK.

Director of Technology

Aaron Whittenberger has 29 years of Business and Information Technology experience, including 16 years of business analysis and 15 years as a Consultant. He earned his Certified Business Analyst ProfessionalTM (CBAP®) certification in 2008.  Aaron current serves as Director of Technology for Bluegrass IIBA Chapter, as well as serves the IIBA® as Regional Director of the Americas Eastern Region and former Co-Chairperson of the Role Delineation Committee, responsible for the relevancy and validity of the IIBA® certification program.  Aaron lives in Independence, KY and has four children. Just a few months ago he participated in his first ever game of cricket with his co-workers. For himself, Aaron enjoys a good round of golf, we’ll see if he ever has one.  Aaron hopes that the Bluegrass Business Analysis Chapter brings a business analysis educational program to the area to spark innovation and creative thinking and raise the level of business analysis performed for organizations in the Bluegrass area. This will raise the awareness of the value of business analysts as change agents to allow organizations to gain competitive advantage in the marketplace.
